Here in California the Supreme Court has ruled that gays have a right to get married.
While I'm not gay, I support gay marriage and a national mandate allowing same-sex marriages in every state.
As California goes, so goes the nation!

Nov. 4th 2008 Update: So, as everyone knows, Prop 8 passed. Some people have asked my opinion, so I just wanted to say that I don't think Prop 8 will be sticking around. If you think about it, Prop 8 is discriminatory and segregational, which is 100% unconstitutional and therefor cannot be admitted into the constitution of the state or of the country.
Sorry, that made me seem like a jerk. I apologize. Let me revise what I said: why care? From what I understand - and I may be wrong, I apologize once again if I am - people in same sex relationships in California already get the same rights and benefits as a married couple - which I support. However, it seems that now some people think this new title will make everyone equal. It wont. I hate to inform everyone, but it'll just make more people angry with you.
Is marriage this important? Is a silly, stupid little title given to you by a man in a funny suit that which equates equality? If so, what a lousy equality. A title doesn't define love or equality. The actions of two individuals - the gender does not matter - towards one another matter. Love is not something you buy, it's not a title. It's that crappy little feeling you get when your heart sinks and your mind gets all fuzzy. It's when you see that person and every ounce of sadness and hate and angst and aggression and loathing dissipates even if only for a second. A title does not give you that.
Congratulations, we're equal. Divorce lawyers are celebrating this victory, mind you.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
